Dr Kate O'Sullivan BScPsyHon,DCounsPsy

Kate offers online therapy at present. This means accessing therapy by video call from the comfort of your own home.

 

She helps people affected by trauma and PTSD using EMDR and CBT; both are recommended in the NICE guidelines. Kate is an EMDR Accredited Practitioner.

 

Kate also offers talking therapy to individuals experiencing loss and bereavement, anxiety and depression, phobias, obsessive-compulsive traits, difficult life transitions, self esteem difficulties, relational problems, work stress and other areas.

 

Kate has a warm, friendly and collaborative style. Kate works alongside her clients and tailors therapy to meet their unique needs. Kate uses a strength based approach to help individuals to reach their therapy goals.

 

Kate has trained in evidence based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialetecial  Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Person-Centred Therapy and mindfulness. Kate has extensive experience working in NHS adult services, voluntary sectors, charities, CAMHS, research clinics, schools and private practice.

With experience including the NHS (since 2006) and private practice (since 2016), Beth has dedicated her career to helping people with their mental health including low mood or depression, anxiety, work related stress, personal life stressors, obsessive compulsive disorder, adjustment to difficult changes, grief and loss, phobias, adjusting to living with chronic health issues, eating difficulties and body image, self-esteem difficulties, trauma and other areas.

 

Beth is is trained in a variety of different therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), compassion focussed therapy (CFT), dialectical behaviour therapy and cognitive analytic therapy. Beth has a special interest in empowering people  to redefine their relationship with their food and their body - allowing them to be free to live the life they want. Beth is launching a new venture in 2025 to help people do just this so keep an eye on updates!

 

Regardless of which approach your therapy takes, Beth has a compasstionate and caring approach. Beth believes that you are the expert in you, but together you can find the therapeutic approach which best suits you and helps you to get to where you want to be.

 

Outside of work, Beth lives with her husband, a daft labrador and mischievious sausage dogs. You are likely to find her drinking vanilla chai latte, reading a fantasy fiction in her garden - surrounded by doggy chaos.
